Rugby squad get rewards on tour

Campion School have enjoyed a good first week on their rugby tour of South Africa.

Pupils from the Hornchurch school flew out last week, arriving in Cape Town to be greeted by rain.

And after a tiring journey, their two teams fell to defeats in their opening fixture against SACS.

The second XV went down by a 22-0 margin, while the first XV were beaten 53-8.

The touring party enjoyed a trip to Table Mountain, before training in Hermanus and meeting their billets.

And the second round of fixtures in midweek produced better results, with the seconds running out 10-0 winners as the firsts were edged to an 18-17 loss.

Campion played their third fixtures today (Friday) and claimed convincing wins in both.

The second team thumped their rivals by a resounding 82-0 margin, with the firsts celebrating a 54-11 victory.
